S Y R I U S testing: how to

The s y r i u s test wallet has landed — this article will walk through the how-to.. from download to getting coins for the testnet from the faucet to collecting $PP via incentivized phase.. if you don’t know what any of this means, this article isn’t for you.. first get familiar with Zenon via Shazz’s overview.

Now that that's sorted, let’s start for real

Downloading

1. Navigate to the website and download the appropriate wallet (not bundle — that’s another topic)
2. If on Mac and it won’t let you open, hit control + right click -> open.. if still blocking you, navigate to System Preferences-> Security & Privacy, and click the lock in the bottom left corner.. once you do that, you should see an option to open the syrius-testnet download
3. Once open, click Create New Wallet and follow steps w/ private key, etc.

Collect Incentives and Earn

1. In s y r i u s, go to the Incentivized tab and fill out the fields (twitter handle, etc.)
2. Complete quests to earn $PP — at ALPHANET Genesis, $PP will be converted into $QSR at 1000:1 ($PP:$QSR)
3. As you complete quests, you will level up — leveling up provides a multiplier on all $PP you receive (ex. if a quest gives you 500 $PP but you have a 2x multiplier, you actually receive 1000 $PP)

Getting Test ZNN

1. In s y r i u s, go to Transfer tab and copy your receiving address
2. Go to Telegram and dm @znnfaucet_bot “/faucet [paste receiving address]”
3. You can receive from the faucet 1x/day.. collect enough ZNN and QSR to spawn a Sentinel or Pillar

Testnet Phases

First Stage: S Y R I U S launch with Plasma (essentially gas for network) [COMPLETE — Live on 3/26/21]

Second Stage: Pillars, Sentinels, and Staking released [COMPLETE — Live on 4/11/21]

Third Stage: Tokenization goes live via ZTS [COMPLETE — Live on 4/24/21]

Final Stage: Incentivized testnet [COMPLETE — Live on 6/14/21]

ALPHANET Genesis [Will be on 11/19/21]

Now What?

1. Collect as much $PP as possible via quests (this will be converted into $QSR which will have a real dollar value upon ALPHANET)
2. Generate a Pillar, Sentinel, Plasma, Token, or stake
3. Record any bugs you run into.. if big, report them to @Sigli in the Telegram… if it’s not important enough to dm Sigli, use #feedback in the Telegram channel

Bugs & Fixes

1. If you had s y r i u s before the Incentivized phase and are just now joining the incentivized phase, re-download the wallet. In the new wallet, make sure to delete cache and restart before adding your info to the incentivized tab. This will ensure that your old s y r i u s znn address and info is not still held within the wallet.
2. If getting a password error: type in a password in notes and then copy/paste into the password field
3. If load wallet and says “Bad State: The Client is Closed”: restart wallet.. if still doesn’t work, clear cache and restart
